The MIT Media Lab, world-renown for extending and re-defining the state of human-machine interaction, has embarked upon an ambitious program in conjunction with its’ major new expansion, which broke ground last year.
Pieces of what is in store are just now starting to fall into place, much of it derived from what we know about current capabilities and what we infer from the ongoing research at the Lab. Here’s what it looks like:

distributor in the U.S. to offer resellers ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs)
from OQO.
The manufacturer has developed one of the world’s smallest,
fully functional Windows Vista™ PCs and first UMPC with embedded 3G
mobile broadband capabilities in a pocket-size device weighing 1
pound.
It is now available to the channel through Tech Data’s Client
Computing business unit.

Movial Launches Internet Experience Suite for Linux Device Manufacturers
Movial, the company that inspires rich, intuitive Internet experiences, today announced it has been selected by ARM to create a Linux platform to help mobile device companies very quickly and easily create next-generation mobile applications. Movial and ARM will offer the Linux software platform free to device manufacturers around the world, and will unveil the platform at the ARM Developers’ Conference this week. Movial also announced it is launching Movial IXS (Internet Experience Suite), an application suite for custom-branded user interfaces for Linux-based connected devices.

LXE has posted some interesting White Papers on Mobile Computing, primarily dealing with the warehouse environment. (
www.lxe.com/us). Particularily interesting is the one entitled "Turbo Charge Your Inventory Moves with Wearable Computers: 13 Key Considerations for Evaluating Wearables".
And, in other news regarding LXE, they just announced the HX3 Dedicated Voice Computer for speech-based warehouse applications. Voxware also announced support for the HX3.
